Warden's Edge Community Rules
Version 1.1 · 4 October 2026
In short
- Chat is off until you switch it on.
- Be kind. No hate, no threats, no sexual talk, no swearing.
- Keep personal things private: no real names, ages, schools, addresses or other apps.
- Our own filter checks every message and name first, and a person reads every report.
- Break a rule and your message may be blocked, or you may be muted or banned from chat. That doesn't touch your progress or purchases, except in the most serious cases, when we close the account.
- You're told why, unless the law stops us, and you can ask a person to look again.
- Nobody from Warden's Edge will ever ask for your password, a login code or a payment in the chat.
- Worried about yourself or someone else? Report it, or talk to someone: 113 in the Netherlands, findahelpline.com elsewhere, 112 in an emergency.
The full rules below are what count. They are part of our Terms of Service: please read them before you switch the chat on.
Who can do what
Chat is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off at any time (the ⋯ menu in the chat).
| 18 and over | 13 to 17 | Under 13 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Read the chat | All messages | Quick-chat messages only | No chat |
| Write in the chat | Type messages (after 15 minutes of play), or use quick chat | Quick chat only: ready-made messages | No chat |
| Your name | Type one, or pick one from our word lists | Type one (it can't say your age, your birth year or your school year), or pick one from our word lists | No name |
- Quick chat is a list of ready-made messages, such as "GG!" or "Good luck, have fun!". Everyone sees them.
- Until you choose a name, you have a made-up one, such as "Mossy Owl 482". You can change your name once every 7 days.
- In Leagues, other players see the name you chose, or "Warden" and a number. Never your Telegram or Discord name.
- Your age group comes from the month and year of birth you gave us when you first opened the Store or the chat.
The rules
- Be kind. No bullying, insults, threats or hate.
- No sexual talk.
- Keep personal things private, yours and other people's: no real names, ages, schools, addresses, numbers or accounts.
- No links, and no inviting people to other apps or games.
- No selling, buying, trading or begging, for items, Crowns or accounts.
- No spam, ads or scams, and don't pretend to be staff.
- No swearing.
- No cheats, bots or exploits, and no talk about how to use them.
- No political or religious campaigning.
- Write in English or Dutch.
- Worried about yourself or someone else? Report it, or call a helpline.
Asking where someone is from, or which country or city, is fine. Asking any of these is not:
- how old someone is, or which school they go to;
- where they live: their street, their area or which part of a town, however it is asked;
- whether they are alone or who is home, or where they are right now;
- their real name, or their account on another app;
- for photos, to meet up, or to keep a secret.
The same rules apply to names. A name also can't hold a number from 10 to 19 (an age, or the end of a birth year), an app's name, or a word that sounds like staff (such as "Admin" or "Mod"). "Daddy" and "mommy" are fine, but not next to a word for a child. If you are 13 to 17, your name can't say your age, your birth year or your school year either.
Nobody from Warden's Edge will ever ask for your password, a login code or a payment in the chat.
How we check
- Before anyone sees a message or a name, our own automatic filter checks it. The filter runs inside our own server: no outside company reads your messages.
- The filter isn't perfect. If it blocks something harmless, tap Wrongly blocked?. If it misses something, report it.
- A person reads every report.
- We look at messages only to moderate the chat, to keep players safe, and when the law requires it.
What happens when a rule is broken
| What happens | When | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| Your message is not sent | It breaks a rule. You see why right away | Our automatic filter |
| A 10-minute pause | Several of your messages were blocked in a few minutes | Our automatic filter |
| You can't type for 24 hours (quick chat still works) | Several of your messages were blocked in a day for personal questions, sexual words, threats, contact details, links or scams. The message about it says which | Our automatic filter, and a person checks it the same day |
| A message is hidden while a person checks it | Several players reported it | Automatic, until a person decides |
| A message is removed | After a report, or when we see it ourselves | A person |
| A mute: you can't send messages for a time | Breaking the rules, depending on how serious it is | A person |
| A chat ban | Serious or repeated breaking of the rules | A person |
| Your chat is limited to quick chat | Other players report that you may be under 18, or a moderator sees it in the chat, and a person agrees. Your age as you gave it stays the same | A person |
| The whole chat is quick chat only, or read-only, for a while | A moderator switches it, for example during a flood of messages or a raid. It never happens by itself | A person |
| Your name is reset to a made-up one | Your name breaks the rules. You can choose a new one at once | A person |
| Name changes are locked for 30 days | A second name reset within 30 days | A person |
| Your account is closed, and we tell the police | The most serious cases: threats to someone's life or safety, grooming or exploiting children, terrorist content | A person |
- We act in proportion, and with care for everyone's freedom to speak.
- A chat penalty limits chat and names only. It never touches your progress or your purchases (except an account closure, which the Terms of Service explain).
- You are always told what we did, which rule it was about, and whether a computer or a person decided, unless the law stops us.
Reporting a message or a name
- Tap Report on any message or name, and choose what is wrong.
- If someone asks you personal things, asks to meet, or asks you to talk somewhere else, choose Grooming or asking to meet. If you think a player who types in the chat is under 18, choose This player may be under 18. A person looks at these first, whatever anyone's age.
- If you haven't told us your age yet, we ask before your first report.
- We never tell anyone who reported. Reporting also blocks that player for you, so you won't see their messages any more; you can undo this.
- A person looks at every report, and we tell you what we decided.
- Anyone, players or not, can report illegal content to support@crosum.app. Say what it is and where you saw it.
- You can also block a player at any time, without reporting them. They are never told.
If you think we got it wrong
- Tap Contest on the message that tells you about our decision, or Wrongly blocked? under a message the filter didn't send. A person looks again, usually within 3 days, and tells you the result. If a wrong block was one of the ones that paused your typing for 24 hours, the pause is lifted too.
- You can also email support@crosum.app, or go to court.
Worried about yourself or someone else?
Please talk to someone. In the Netherlands you can call 113 (free on 0800-0113) or chat at 113.nl, any time. Outside the Netherlands, findahelpline.com finds a free helpline in your country. In an emergency, call 112 in Europe, or your local emergency number. You can also report a message: a person will look at it quickly.
Keep yourself safe
- Don't share your real name, your age, your school, your address, your phone number or your other accounts. Not in a message, and not in your name. Don't use the name you use on Telegram, Discord or another app.
- If someone asks for those, or asks you to talk somewhere else, don't. Report them (Grooming or asking to meet). Our filter blocks the usual questions, but not every one. Telling someone which country you are from is up to you.
Changes to these rules
When we change these rules, we tell you in the game before the change applies, and we ask you to accept them again before you can chat.
What changed in version 1.1 (4 October 2026). It replaces version 1.0, which went online on 4 October 2026 (dated 12 October 2026, the day we planned to open to everyone):
- typing opens after 15 minutes of play, not after 3 finished runs; players of 13 to 17 can type a name, which can't say their age, birth year or school year;
- rule 3 says addresses rather than places, and a new paragraph says which questions are fine (where someone is from) and which are not (age, school, where they live, whether they are alone, photos, meeting up, and more);
- names: no number from 10 to 19, and "daddy" and "mommy" are fine except next to a word for a child;
- the 24-hour typing pause, the quick-chat limit a moderator may set, and the whole chat in quick chat or read-only for a while, when a moderator switches it;
- reports for grooming and for a player who may be under 18; we ask your age before your first report if you haven't told us; a wrong block that paused your typing lifts the pause;
- plainer wording and a short summary at the top; no change in what we do.
